CoinDCX levies a 1% TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) on cryptocurrencies sold on its platform. This is in accordance with Section 194A of the Income Tax Act which mandates crypto exchanges to deduct a 1% TDS on the selling amount of crypto. For example, When you sell a crypto token for INR 30,000 on CoinDCX, it deducts a TDS of 1% i.e., INR 300, and returns you INR 29,700.

If CoinDCX deducts TDS, use KoinX to file your income tax return (ITR). If you don't owe any taxes for that year, you can claim a refund for the deducted TDS amount when filing your return.
